HIV associated 

Unique to HIV Infection

  • Diffuse infiltrative lymphocytosis syndrome (similar to SICCA syndrome, parotid gland enlargement)
  • HIV-associated arthritis (similar to the patient I have; CONGO has a high prevalence)
  • Zidovudine-associated myopathy
  • Painful articular syndrome (in the late stage of the disease, acute severe overnight)

  • HIV-associated reactive arthritis 
  • Polymyositis
  • Psoriatic arthritis
  • Polyarteritis nodosa\
  • Giant cell arteritis
  • Hypersensitivity angiitis 
  • Granulomatosis with polyangiitis 
  • Henoch-Schönlein purpura 
  • Behçet’s disease
  • Infectious arthritis (bacterial, fungal)
Better with HIV but worse with IRIS
  • RA
  • SLE
  • Sarcoidiosis
